Variety Plot – Elmira
This was another of our yearly Dekalb Corn Variety plot. This field followed winter wheat, gets plenty of manure and is conventional tillage. The plot was planted with an 8 row, 20″ John Deere planter. 5 gal G24 liquid starter was added on the seed as well as 20 gal of UAN + ATS applied 3” to the side, just below the surface – 3×0- through conceal knives. This field received an application of fungicide, Veltyma DLX to keep the corn green. The PSNT called for nitrogen when tested at 8 leaf, so 25 gal was applied via side-dressing.
