Fungicide Plot – Desboro

This plot was conducted to compare two different fungicides applied at heading. This field followed oats taken for grain and is conventional til. The plot was planted with a 30′ John Deere air seeder and had  50 lb of MAP added at planting. This field received an application of 42 gal of UAN+ATS, 25 gal at greenup, then another 17 gal just before flag leaf. A growth regulator was applied, tank-mixed with the herbicide. Two fungicides were applied at heading and compared. 

Fungicide at heading pays more often than not on winter wheat, but new products are coming on the market all the time. In this case the new Spharex out-performed Prosaro Pro by 9 bu/ac!
